UK,8vo HB+dw/dj,3rd edn with revisions+ additional letters.[Original true 1st edn (2 Vols.),1931,2nd edn (1 Vol.)1935,a 2nd imp,1942 and then this 3rd edn,1947 with revisions and three extra additional letters.] NFINE/VG.Owner's inked name to top,right-hand corner of front free endpaper and no price-clip to dw/dj.Tan dw/dj with dark brown letters and small brown illustration to front,brown letters to slightly darkened spine which has light chipping and reciprocal loss to both head+ foot of same,rear panel with dark brown lettered publisher's advert relating to other books on Keats,3 corner tips rubbed with some splits and miniscule loss.Top edge coloured burgundy,fore-edge lightly aged/toned and with minimal foxing/ spotting; contents bright,tight and solid, sound and generally clean - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners, appears unread,apart from my own collation.A narrow,approx. 1cm wide strip/ margin of wrinkling to top edges (water?) of the following,in diminishing degree,to ffe,blank,half-title,an illustrated etched frntis+tissue guard,title page,preface+ postscript (only v-xiipp of xxpp of preface affected).Bright,crisp,clean, sharp-cornered,publisher's original,plain burgundy cloth boards with bright,crisp, blocked gilt letters to spine and clean plain white endpapers with noted exceptions.UK,8vo HB+dw/dj,3rd edn,v-lxxpp +3-563pp [paginated] includes preface+ postscript,contents list/table,a chronology of principal events, biographical memoranda,letters,Keats's pen-slips an unusual spellings,addenda,an index of first lines of poems+fragments scattered throughout the letters,and a general index.Plus [unpaginated] blank, half-title,tissue-guarded etched illustrated frntis,and title page.
Pp451/2 with production fault of page being folded diagonally on itself in the printing process,leaving areas blank on pp451 and print twice over-printed obliquely to reverse side of pp451.
This 3rd edn now includes 3 letters which have come to light since 1935.Also it includes George Keats's last letter to John before leaving England for America for the second and last time.A few letters have been revised,the most important of these is Keats's reply to Shelley's invitation to Pisa.
